Tagliatore – The Art of Italian Tailoring
Tagliatore is more than a brand – it is a story of Italian passion, craftsmanship, and family heritage. Its roots trace back to 1940 in Martina Franca, Puglia, a land renowned for artisanal traditions. It was here that Vito Lerario, known as “Il Tagliatore” – the cutter – began his journey as a master shoemaker. His devotion to authentic craftsmanship was inherited by his son Franco, who transformed the family tradition into the art of tailoring.
From these origins grew a reputation for excellence, even attracting international recognition when costumes were created for Tim Burton’s Batman in the late 1980s. Building on this legacy, the next generation – led by creative director Pino Lerario – launched the Tagliatore brand in 1999. Today, alongside his siblings, Pino continues to guide the company with the same devotion to Italian excellence.
Tagliatore collections embody refined tailoring with a distinctive character: luxurious fabrics, sharp silhouettes, and a timeless yet contemporary elegance. Entirely produced in Italy, every garment reflects a meticulous attention to detail and a strong, charismatic identity.
What began as a small family workshop has become a jewel of Italian menswear, today recognized worldwide for its uncompromising quality and unmistakable style.
